Last year some members from the RCC stayed at the Vernon Downs Casino & Hotel on Saturday night. This made the morning drive to Sylvan Beach about 30 mins. We have again been able to get a block of reserved rooms for Saturday night July 27th. If you would like more info on reserving a room at Vernon Downs please contact me, Doug Rigerman by June 26th. My contact info is on the Members Roster page or see me at a club meeting.
The Webster Senior Center 1350 Chiyoda Drive, Webster, NY 14580 invites you on Tuesday, July 30th at 1pm to show your Corvette and to give those Seniors who would like, a ride around the parking lot. Hopefully it will be a nice sunny afternoon.
A few years back we got a group of folks together to take some Seniors for a ride (around the parking lot) and show them our Corvettes. Last time we did it we had an mini car show for them with about 15 – 20 cars right after their lunch.
Please send an email to Dave Norton at drnorton@rochester.rr.com if you are interested. You can also register here for this event.
This was a big hit to them last time!

2024 CORVETTES ON WOODWARD
HAVE MOVED
TO THE M1 CONCOURSE IN PONTIAC, MICHIGAN
This move will give us room for more Corvettes to participate. It will also allow us to build an American Flag with Corvettes. If you have a red, white, or blue Corvette and want to participate, let me know. Yes, parts of Wednesday are still a work in progress. We will have at least two food trucks. If you are looking for good insurance rates for your Corvette, representatives from the National Corvette Museum Insurance will be there to help you. Eventually, all registration will be digital. This year there will be a combination of digital, and cash or credit at the gate. Everyone will be entering the North Gate on Rapid Street this year. Please be patient. My goal this year is to do something that has never been done in Michigan, having an event with 1000 Corvettes in attendance. Open Hands Food Pantry will continue to benefit from the proceeds of the event. The board of directors of Open Hands asked me to donate only money. The main reason is they do not have enough volunteers to sort the food to take out dented or expired food. There are so many people asking for assistance that they have standardized packages of food. They can buy from Gleaners at a very good price. It helps with the distribution of help. The need keeps growing. Twenty percent of the people living in Michigan seek some type of food assistance. We are the lucky ones. The M1 will be busy setting up for Friday and Saturday. It will be a great exciting weekend. The M1 has asked me to open the weekend with a BANG that will be heard all the way to Ferndale. I know we can do it. We will have a bit more room to move around and if you really can’t stay until 7, you will be able to leave. Our regular Thursday tours will continue.
The M1 Concourse Woodward Dream Show has been elevated to a multi-day festival featuring great cars, music, dancing, food, and fireworks. Welcome to the Woodward Dream Show and Festival.
Wednesday, August 14th, Corvettes on Woodward will kick off the four-day weekend with Michigan’s largest Corvette event, where a flag made from Corvettes will be the highlight. Wednesday's event ticket will be through the M1 Concourse Corvettes on the Woodward Charity donation site. $20 per car will help our favorite charities in a preferred way vs. the canned goods in the past. The proceeds from this event will be divided between the Checkered Flag Challenge and the charities historically supported by Corvettes on Woodward. More details on Thursday Corvette Trips in the area will be announced soon. Here's the schedule for Friday and Saturday, and you can buy a one-day or two-day ticket. VIP tickets, including Food and beverages, are also available.
Friday, August 16th, The Woodward Dream Show and Festival will celebrate with the Pontiac GTO display in front of the M1 Concourse event center. A collection of all five generations of Pontiac GTOs celebrating the 60th anniversary. See the history of GTO. We’ll have a pristine collection of Pontiac GTOs gathered on the plaza. Vote for your favorite cars in our People’s Choice Awards. Musical performers from Motown, Beatles, and Beach Boys tribute bands will play hourly. Low Riders will compete in hopping demonstrations, Funny Cars will be cackling their engines, and more. Be sure to enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks. Remember, you can upgrade to VIP status to enjoy gourmet catered food and drinks throughout the day at the M1 Café in the Event Center. The Big tent will include dozens of interesting automotive businesses and demonstrations.
Saturday, August 17th, the Woodward Dream Show and Festival will turn back the hands of time with a 1964 New Car Show and a time tunnel to the days of Beatlemania. Saturday, from 10 AM until the fireworks display in the plaza, we’ll recreate a 1964 New Car Show with dozens of 1964 cars on display. The tribute bands of the icons of the 1960s begin at 1:30, and we’ll have a classic TV host emceeing the bands and teaching us to Twist again like it’s 1964 at the M1 American Bandstand.
Enjoy the Woodward Dream Parade Saturday afternoon, leaving M1 at 3 PM, cruising downtown Pontiac, and returning around 4 PM to the circuit around the arena. As the sun sets, grab a drink and crank up the excitement with nationally recognized tribute bands on stage and a breathtaking fireworks display.
Your one-day or two-day ticket includes: - 60's Music Festival playing the tunes of the Beatles, Beach Boys, and Motown’s best - Delicious Food Trucks - 500+ Cars on Display - Family Fun Zone –Low Rider hopping competition, Funny Cars cackling their engines and more.
You can walk the track to see hundreds of show cars, participate in People’s Choice voting, attend the Woodward Dream Show Awards on Saturday at 6 PM, and visit the events center symposiums on the fashions of the ’60s, NASA’s Space Race, and more.
We’ve added more than a thousand on-site parking spaces this year. Enter the (North) Rapid Street entrance. For only 20 dollars, you can park near shuttles and Trolleys to take you to the show.
A full menu of activities for enthusiasts and their families. Relive the 1960s with the Cars, the Music, and the Culture of 1964 at M1 Concourse for our first annual Corvettes on Woodward at M1 Concourse. August 14, 16th and 17th, 2024 More information at M1 Concourse.com
